Headcanon: Octavia was seriously into hard rock and metal in her teenage years, but later decided she wanted to compose and play classical-style music. With that her look eventually changed to something a little less rebellious looking to fit the Canterlot scene. She still loves her old music though and often heads to concerts to fucking T H R A S H.
